The Parts of the Body in Spanish is one of my favorite units to work with young children. This pack was designed to teach the Body Parts in Spanish at the pace of your students. It is divided into three parts or categories:

Let’s Read:

This is the first category. Your child will be introduced to the new vocabulary and have the opportunity to get familiarized with it.

Practice Fun:

This part was designed to give the student the opportunity to manipulate the new information and have fun with it.

Now, you try it:

This category was designed to work independently. It can be used to assess the student or as an extra practice. It’s up to you!

There is not a predetermined schedule to follow. You can pick and choose everyday or twice a week from each category, and repeat activities as many times as you want.

Included activities:

The Parts of the Body in Spanish Mini books/Stories

  • Story narrated by Native Spanish Speakers (separate folder with audio files included)
  • Finger Puppets to go along with story.
  • List of Songs and Poems.

The Parts of the Body in Spanish Centers/ Stations

  • Flashcards: These cards can be used in many different ways: to play hide and seek with them, go on a Scavenger Hunt, assess your students, etc. You decide! The possibilities are endless.
  • Roll the Dices: In this activity, children use the big dices to practice vocabulary words. Ask them to match the dice with the picture, to the dice with the correct word.
  • Fishing Game: In this game, children spin the wheel and fish the correct vocabulary word. The cards can be placed on the floor or inside a plastic container with water beads to make it more fun!
  • Hopscotch: Let’s move! Place giant puppet on the floor and have children take turns to toss a bean bag into the body part they want, identify it, and then hop or jump to retrieve the bean bag. This game can be played with several players or alone.
  • Sorting Mats: In this activity, children are asked to sort the body parts and put them in the correct spot on their body parts mat.
  • Body Parts Puzzle: This activity can be used both as an independent and/or Centers Activity. Students need to order the puzzle pieces to find the hidden picture.
  • Memory Game: Use it to practice vocabulary words. It can be played in groups and/or independently.
  • Loteria: This game was designed to be played like the traditional Loteria Game.
  • Bingo: This set of cards was designed to be played like the traditional BINGO Game.
  • I have…, who has…?: In this game, students will have the opportunity of practicing the body parts in Spanish while moving around the room, classroom or playground.
  • UNO Game: This set of cards can be used in different ways in Centers or as an Independent Activity. This game was designed to be played just like the card game UNO. Instead of matching numbers, they match body parts.
  • Board Game: In this game, students take turns to throw the included dice and then move to the space on the Board with the correct body part. The first person to get to the end, wins the game.
  • Guess the riddle: Riddles are a great way for children to learn new concepts and/or vocabulary words in the target language. It was designed to be played in groups and/or independently (QR code cards included with audio instructions narrated by Native Spanish Speaker)
